Starting from the end of September, we will be back with our theatre activities  at the espace Pôle Sud in Lausanne! For the upcoming year, we will offer a broad range of activities suitable for different needs:

DANS LA CHAMBRE DES MIROIRS - Laboratory of theatrical expression

"You use a glass mirror to see your face; you use works of art to see your soul", wrote George Bernard Shaw. During this laboratory, we will use the “mirrors” that theatre offers us to explore our stage presence, our relationship to others and our expressive capacities. The lab is open to participants of all ages. It is not necessary to have previous performative experience.

INFO

Wednesday evenings (7pm-9pm), from October until the end of May
Possibility to start in October or February
2 moments of sharing with the public
Free trial lesson: Wednesday 4 October (7pm to 9pm)

More info on dates, costs and registration: Pôle Sud webpage

L' ART CLANDESTIN DE L'ACTEUR - Theatre acting laboratory

This laboratory aims to develop some core skills of theatre acting. In the first months of the laboratory, we will explore in depth three key aspects: the improvisation work, the use of the mask, and the relationship between body, intentions and voice. In the second part of the laboratory, we will stage a show starting from a text and/or improvisations, which will allow us to deepen the work on the character and on the dramaturgy of the actor.

Participation in the workshop requires a good physical condition.

INFO

Monday evenings (7pm-9.30pm) + 6 Saturdays (10am-5 pm), from the end of September until May
Start: Saturday September 30 (10am-5pm)

More info on dates, costs and registration: Pôle Sud webpage

THEATRE LABORATORY 2022-23

RETOUR EN IMAGES

Who am I? Who are we? What is a "we"? Although these questions sound very philosophical, they actually arise in many familiar situations.

This theatre laboratory has been a 5-months journey of discovery and creation guided by these questions. In the protected and magical space of the laboratory, we explored these questions both individually and as a group.

The result of our exploration was presented to a very attentive audience on March 31st 2023 at the espace Pôle Sud in Lausanne. A warm Thank You! to all of the spectators and the participants to the laboratory

2021-22 THEATRE WORKSHOP SERIES

For the 2021-22 season, Sarvàn Teater organised "Le Chantier de l'Acteur", a series of workshops exploring the physical foundations of acting.

During each workshop, we worked on a different aspect of the art of the actor, from the use of space to physical improvisation, from the embodiment of a text to the use of theatre masks.

More than 15 participants with various levels of experience and from all over Switzerland attended one or more of the workshops. Thanks to each and every one of you!

Below are some pictures from our last workshop "En Masque !" which took place on Sunday 22 May 2022.

THEATRE RESIDENCY AT THE GROTOWSKI INSTITUTE - JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2022

In January and February 2022, Michele has been artist-in-residence at the Instytut Grotowskiego in Wroclaw (Poland), as part of the Institute's training and residency program for individual artists.

Michele's project aimed at exploring the troubled relationship between rationality and spirituality in the context of the human search for knowledge. During this exploration, textual and figurative sources from popular science books, as well as poems, religious songs and interviews to astronauts became sources of inspiration to develop performative materials through physical and vocal improvisations.

On February 10th, the result of this work was presented for the first time with the provisional title "From the closed world to the infinite universe: a journey of knowledge" at the Na Grobli Studio in Wroclaw.

Tutor of the residency: Kamila Klamut (Zar Teatr)

Costumes and artistic advice: Stefania Casiraghi

Stage design and technical advice: Francesco Zenoni

SARVÀN TEATER LAUNCH EVENT IN LAUSANNE - MAY 2021

"Sculpteurs des Métaphores", Sarvàn Teater's first theatre workshop in Lausanne, took place at the Espace PÔLE SUD on May 22-23 2021.

Participants joined a theatre training aimed at reawakening the body, exploring its creative potential, and learning how to control and guide it.

After experimenting with several physical improvisation exercises and games, they  built a sequence of physical actions and used it to start working on a monologue or a poem
